If I come up with something workable, it's (hopefully) that much quicker and easier for you guys to integrate it into the base distribution. Of course, I have an ulterior motive--it'll help me personally. Since the stock e-smith backup doesn't restore custom software, recovering from a drive failure would be quite a hassle for me. If I can get something like this working, it'll be much simpler.
