I have a few questions that have come up during development of a package
(which I should release soon).

1A. Why does SME avoid using the logrotate facility? I see (roughly) how the
syslogd setup is done, but my daemon is hard coded to log to a particular
path and filename, and logrotate would be very handy :)

1B. When looking at the syslogd template stuff, it wasn't clear how to add an
additional logfile without cloning the makefilename{} routine {from
00filenames]. Easy to do, but not very elegant. Any suggestions?

2. Is it OK to assume that the pthread library will be present on future
versions of SME?

3. Similarly, will LDAP and MySQL be present?

4. Are "contrib" fragments meant to go into /etc/e-smith/templates or
/etc/e-smith/template-custom? [From http://www.e-smith.org/custom/, I guess
the first - which means that all contribs get nixed when you upgrade] What
are the other templates directories meant to be for?

Brad
