If you want to use logrotate, go ahead and use it. We haven't disabled 
logrotate, we're just no longer using it in various places. We made the 
change to make it efficient to use rsync to mirror log files to another 
server. Renaming every log file makes rsync very inefficient.

We are moving all that stuff into a library, but until we do that you have 
no alternative but to cut and paste what's there. It might be ugly, but 
it'll work.
