I've been looking into quite a nice alternative which is Arkeia www.arkeia.com
They have a "freeware" version which allows the backup of up to 3 linux servers, and the backup program can be controlled via a java interface from windows. I like this program as it keeps a database of what was backed up and where / when it was done. On the downside my testing with a DAT-3 HP drive had VERY slow restore times. I'm not sure if that is a problem with the tape drive or the program. Has anyone else had experience with this software?
