Hey Folks,
Well, after the recent discussion covering the many different options available for groupware products, Amphora came up somewhere along the way. I had never heard of Amphora before that so I went to take a look. Wow! I'll have to say that I'm impressed. It looks like a mature and stable product. I logged into the online demo and I really like the interface. I'll have to admit that I have the same complaint I had about eproject (not displaying the price of the full version on the website.) Oh well, maybe at 31 I'm turning into an old fart. Anyway, I'm sufficiently impressed that I want to install the Light version to see what the feature/performace ratio is. Now on to my questions for the group: How much trouble am I getting myself into by installing this package? These are the requirements as listed on the website: postgresql-7.1.x postgresql-devel-7.1.x postgresql-libs-7.1.x postgresql-server-7.1.x apache-devel-1.3.x apache-1.3.x sendmail imap-2000c Now, I don't have a problem with putting these (and indeed, all kind of software :) on my test system. However, I have not, as of yet, replaced or subsidised any of the 'base' features of SME such as the database. Will Postgresql play nice on the system? Also, for long term maintainability of the sytem, will this stuff cause problems? Thanks for your input. I'm fairly certain I'm going to push forward and test it out today. I'll let you know (i.e. beg for help) if I blow up my system.
