I have been following the various threads on Exchange replacement (SME and
Samsung/Outlook Free busy etc).

As I have posted before, I would very much like to get something sorted out
on this front, mainly as I would like to have all our addresses located in
one place for use by Outlook & fax software etc. We have a couple of
thousand contacts I guess, which are liberally distributed among various
programs, and none of which are synched. It's a right royal pain.

>From what I can surmise there are a few choices :

1. Mitels own Free/busy blade option - I can't comment on this as I know
little about about it. Seems geared towards Outlook 2002 - I am not sure
that it works with earlier versions ?

2. Amphora - needs a reasonable spec machine and seems to be geared to
vanilla Redhat

3. Bynari Insightserver - possible contender depending on the level of
changes required

4. Samsung Contact - seems that this may be possible with only minor
changes.

I would like to have a go at trying each of 2, 3, & 4, but don't have the
technical nous to do it alone. I have a couple of spare machines that I can
use as test rigs, but would need loads of help. I am quite happy to contact
the relevant companies for assistance etc.

For my own requirements, it would need to accessible by OL2000 minimum, and
preferably 97.

Anyone want to make a serious go of trying these out and seeing if they are
workable? Any other possible contenders ?
