AFAIK, accessing via a samba share would break rights/ownership during any copy and restore attempt. Therefore I feel it must remain a root login command-line only access/restore solution. > 3. What about backing up W2K servers? Anyone that has spent the considerable investment in a W2K server will need a disaster recovery backup solution suitable for W2K. Rsback/rsync is not suitable for backup or restoration of the unique W2K 'internals' and definitely will break W2K security. A better choice for W2K is a certified W2K backup app. Regards, -- Darrell May DMC myEZserver.com http://myEZserver.com -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Searchable archive at http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
