I have looked closely at FreeWeb - and agree with you that it is a
really nice way to create Freesites, indeed I think that FWProxy is very
impressive particularly its security features. Please don't misinterpret
my criticism of one specific aspect of FreeWeb as a criticism of the
software as a whole, I really think it is great.

It is because of this that I am arguing so strongly to get rid of a
relatively minor feature that, while users aren't forced to use it,
could encourage some users to distribute FWProxy-specific URLs which
won't work anywhere else without either manual modification of the URL,
or installation of your plugin. I can't wait to link to FreeWeb on the
Freenet homepage to encourage people to create freesites, but I don't
feel I can do this while the fear remains that the freenet userbase
might be split into those who do and don't adopt the FWProxy specific
protocol.
