Well, having mixed node behavior with respect to caching shouldn't
break the network.  I agree with your discomfort over jumping in
head-first, although this shouldn't have a cataclysmic effect even if it
doesn't work.

Agreed, Mr. Bad - could you check your .deb scripts and stuff into CVS
so that others can create .debs, and use them for the basis of an rpm
package?  I would refrain from creating a 0.3.9.1 deb given the mapfile
bug, but a 0.3.9.2 deb should follow that release shortly.
