I think that what is needed here is some kind of management interface to
the node.  This should be password protected (password specificed in
.fproxyrc and functionality disabled unless it is).  It could support
multiple connections, and also support the shutdown request
functionality we have discussed before.  Commands could include:

List outstanding MessageCallbacks
Print message log
Output datastore diagnostics
Shutdown
Write datastore
Print <plugin> log (ie. plugin=fproxy)
