2 cents for the windows installer - check out Limewire (http://www.limewire.com), 
which happens to be one of the most popular file-sharer's used now. It was just GPL'd 
and is a gnutella client. Why do you care? It is a desktop app written all in Java, 
and the installer also automatically installs Sun's JRE if it is not already 
installed. Many many windows users find limewire inuitive enough to use, so this is 
where the bar is set.
