I certainly agree that we must push to simplify the installation
process, especially for Windows users, as much as possible.
It is, however, important for us to get over the idea that Freenet needs
to look and behave like mp3 sharing tools such as the Gnutella clients,
and others. Not only is that type of interface not easy to achieve
on top of the Freenet architecture, but it is not really appropriate for
our goals of freedom of information.

do you care? It is a desktop app written all in Java, and the installer
also automatically installs Sun's JRE if it is not already installed.
Many many windows users find limewire inuitive enough to use, so this is
where the bar is set.
