You left out The Electronic Frontier Foundation.
They're good, and they fight for our right to share
files.
http://eff.org/

I've mentioned freenet to them. They're on the right
side on a whole lot of issues involving free speach on
the net.

My $0.02: someone posted it inside freenet "Freenet
needs pron". Look at the file sharing networks. You
type in just about anything and you get pron in the
search results. Companies put out ads sometimes
labeling them as other things. My guess is that
somewhere out there, there are bunch of P2P servers
with nothing but short clips of pron telling you to
buy the stuff from a website.

The problem is for them as soon as people realize it's
an ad they often delete it. So they still have to
probably upload a good fraction of the ads. In
freenet they won't have this problem: as long as it
gets looked at it will stay in cache.

Maybe we can get some pron company to setup a pron
freesite with clips of thier crap and run a couple
nodes. Maybe they'd even donate some money. They'd
have no "image" problems to worry about. The Pron
industry is one of the most profitable things to come
out of the internet revolution. They were first with
streaming video and the like. Maybe they'll want to
be first here too.

Question: will these big pron inserting nodes help or
hurt freenet's fragile ecosystem?
