We don't, specialization is just *one* way that a node can improve its ability to service requests, we can't assume it happens and certainly shouldn't try to force it to happen - it must be allowed to emerge naturally.
I have actually suggested using NGRouting estimates in pcaching occasionally, Ian doesn't seem to think it's a good idea.
I am just wary of playing with PCaching, I really haven't got my head around how pCaching will fit into the NGR philosophy yet. Generally I would like to focus on getting NGR working before playing around with anything else.
