WRT: Web Interface: - Enable FProxy themes by Cascadig Stylesheets (CSS). Please have a look at POFile (http://popfile.sourceforge.net/). Its web interface is easily changeable by selecting another CSS file. It's all about separating content from style...
There is already quite a flexible template system in Freenet, which should make it very easy to create new themes. I think perhaps we should consider dropping the "aqua" theme for something less image intensive.
- Some things a newbie will ask when he first is confronted with the Web Interface: - What does "Load xy%" mean?
Hard to think of a synome for "Load" in this context.
- What is a "Freesite"?
Should be referred to "website" or "Freenet website"
- Why are there so many broken images?
I never really liked those thumbnails, they really seem to clutter up the interface and look really ugly when they don't retrieve.
- What is an "URI"?
Change it to "Address" ?
- What is a "key"?
Ditto.
- Where is the box to enter "Madonna mp3" and the search button?
If they try they are currently shown a page explaining that it doesn't work like that. I am not sure we should pander any more than that.
- A link to a plain text file "support.txt" that holds some basic information (build number, java version, OS version, etc.) to easily copy & paste & append to an email sent to one of the mailing lists.
Perhaps.
Ian.
