We need start-freenet.sh to work out of the box and not spontaneously
hang with linux 2.6.

Its 2.2.5 but on 2.4 gentoo that causes system crash.. don't know about gentoo
with 2.6

2.2.5 works fine with 2.6 on redhat nptl systems
