Hi!

There is a new ebuild for freenet for gentoo, which is quite cool since
it provides an easy way for installing it (finding, downloading and
running a different installer for each piece of software is not easy)
and it also provides init scripts.

One problem i encountered so far (as a user, i don't know if the ebuild
author asked these kind of questions before): The directory handling is
quite strange. Freenet is built to be installed in one directory and run
there. It also saves all the stuff there, which makes me limit its
storage to 32 MB, which sucks but i don't have more free space available
in /opt. I would like to move all the storage, download, node and
whatever stuff somewhere else, but changing this in the configuration
page of the node is not possible, i get error messages.

My question: How should i change these directories in teh config? They
are not in there at the moment (freenet.ini it is), so i have no idea
how i should call them. I cannot change them while the node is running
so it is pretty senseless to list them there. I did not find a page
where all possible configuration variables are listed with their
descriptions. So some thing should be done:

1) If there is a way to change this stuff in the web interface and i did
not find it, could someone point me to it?

2) If these cannot be changed in the web interface, they should either
not be listed there or there should be some kind of information, how to
change them. For the directories (node, storage) there should also be
managed, what files are stored there. Both point to the freenet install
dir and there were lots of files created when i started the node for the
first time. What do i have to move if i change the storage dir but leave
the node dir?

3) Same as 2 but for Wiki/Website.

One thing i also found: When i hit documentation on the website, i see a
nice list with nie topics, but to go somewhere i have to use the menu to
teh left. The topics on the main page should also be klickable, IMHO.

I hope this is the right list for the question, i could not find a
better one since -tech and -chat are missing descriptions.

Thanks,
        Philipp
