It's useful in a very minor way that is not specific to the freenet package.
i.e. someone wanting to work on the debian packaging for freenet should read
previous emails in this thread, instead of placing too much weight on that tool.

Lots of things to do, see previous emails. Next task is to upgrade bouncycastle
in Debian, which is less trivial than I thought it would be:

https://packages.debian.org/sid/libbcprov-java

<infinity0> any particular reason we uploaded bouncycastle 151 and not 154 in
december?
<ebourg> infinity0: bouncycastle upgrades are really painful, because they
frequently break the reverse dependencies
<ebourg> someone has to find the time to test them all and patch the issues
<ebourg> and the fact it's a security library makes it worse, because a bad fix
can open vulnerabilities
<ebourg> that's one of the most difficult packages we maintain I think, along
with the build tools
<infinity0> i guess it's not like upstream provides "long term support" for
each of the versions it releases?
<ebourg> indeed, but upstream is rather helpful when we ask for help with a
backport

Whoever is interested in this work can talk to #debian-java on OFTC for more
details.
