I agree with Tyler, but for a different reason, we are encouraging people
onto a network where active content isn't possible due to security risks,
surely we should make an effort to show how good a site can be without
resorting to overused scripting tricks?

And as people are commenting on how the site 'should' be almost instant for
the different types of users visiting the site I think that a static site
would be a better idea

anyway thats my ha'pennys worth

and help wanted

The only thing I can think of as a potential issue
will be browser compatibility. From the mockup:

This will be a collapsible menu with main headings
such as:

While having nifty features is fun PLEASE remember to
make the site comptabile with non-mainstream browsers.
In this case think about the people that run Lynx,
won't someone please think of the people that use
Lynx?? ;)

A site with simple navigation and layout is best for
Lynx but I'm positive no one is going to want that on
the page. Avoiding anything active makes the site
atleast usable by said browser.
