Do I understand correctly that this problem is specific to Firefox? If we
can tell which browser the launcher will use, there could be a special case
for Firefox where the launcher opens a page asking for permission to switch
to private browsing mode, (I wouldn't expect this to be intelligent enough
to detect if private browsing was already active)  pointing out that it will
close any non-private tabs. If they say no, it would make sense to me to ask
them to use privacy mode on another browser or finish using non-private tabs
in Firefox first.
