Oh yes, it does? 

On my new homeserver my /dev/random gets emptied out very quickly, so freenet 
takes ages to get its startup random seed (I blame it on runing freenet on a 
ramdisk and working on an SSD: somehow that does not seem to generate enough 
random events).
