I'm with Jason on this one. It'd be nice to just change this to `while(!tryToStart(port))`. I saw your comment about not passing the int as a parameter but I'm not sure I understand why it would not show the real port when it tried. It seems like you could just print the exception message with the port parameter value, instead of the port field value.
