Its a shame I took the list off that last reply. Maybe one of the Linux
gurus can explain why the gateway is sending a redirect for itself
rather than handling the routing quietly like it should. Generally
redirects are used to direct the client machine to a different gateway
but in your case the 'other' gateway is the same machine. I would say
the generation of a redirect in this case is wrong behavior. Maybe
someone more knowledgeable with Linux can elucidate why this must be or
point you in the right direction to resolve this.
