Thats a new definition where I come from. What you are talking about is
commonly referred to as a repeater. A bridge usually, well, bridges...
And a switch is basically a multiport bridge, although I think bridges
don't come as cut-through.

Repeater = layer 1
Bridge, switch = layer 2
Router = layer 3
