Roy, you're living in the present. I'm an old-timer. Trust me,
repeaters haven't always been digital. I used to have to work with
analog repeaters back in the days when DEC Palo Alto was wired with
thin-net (and we thought our thin-net plant was *so* modern). I will
admit that my knowledge of the specific terminology is based on
experience, not reading Cisco's marketing literature, but we did have
bridges that tended not to work the way you say all bridges work.
