Yes I see there's even a blueprint for this (I wonder who from?). I actually did this once - ie setup dhis so you can autthenticate against ldap. Worked pretty fine against openldap, apache-ds and fedora directory sercice (now 389). Probably would against ad as well, but I didn't have that. The trouble is I got as far as authenticating but didn't understand the dhis currentuser service well enough to get further. I suspect its a small step.
