OK. Could you give some more details?

I am getting:

autoconf: Undefined macros:
configure.in:102: AC_DEFINE(HAVE_GDK_PIXBUF) ],
configure.in:105: AC_MSG_ERROR(you need either gdk-pixbuf or imlib
installed)) ])
configure.in:123: AC_DEFINE(HAVE_LIBPNG)
configure.in:13:AC_DISABLE_STATIC
configure.in:14:AC_PROG_LIBTOOL
configure.in:169:    AC_MSG_ERROR(you need libxml >= 1.8.5 for this
version of dia)
configure.in:174: AC_MSG_ERROR(Can't find libxml library.)
configure.in:50: AC_DEFINE(GNOME)
configure.in:54: AC_DEFINE(GNOME_PRINT)
configure.in:83:AC_CHECK_LIB(popt, poptSetOtherOptionHelp,
[AC_DEFINE(HAVE_LIBPOPT)
configure.in:93: AC_DEFINE(HAVE_LIBART)],
creating cache ./config.cache
./configure: syntax error near unexpected token `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(dia,'
./configure: ./configure: line 533: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(dia, 0.84)'

I think I got everything installed in RH6.2 but

locate gdk-pixbuf.m4

Returns nothing.

I search all rpms on RH6.2 install CD and found no such file.

I agree that as soon as the code will compile and main bugs fixed there
should be something like beta version accessible for more people.

Thanks,

Jacek

P.S. Personally I know two pretty blondes who would be really interested
in this TeX export. :-)
