Why not set up an open community in a ning - can have multiple

Hi All

I agree with Nasira:

Of course, it might be possible to let the back end of the hosting
program take care of tech issues like huge attachments, vicious code
etc., as Rene G. Abad suggested:.

But there is more to the correct use of this list than just tech issues
in the "FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about the DIGITALDIVIDE
Discussion Group" elaborated by Andy Carvin
<http://www.digitaldivide.net/articles/view.php?ArticleID=54>. See the
parts about trimming messages and about copyrighted materials, for
instance.

Also, about Rene's change of subject line to "why not googlegroups" -
and with apologies for repeating myself - there is a monoculture problem
with choosing Google groups. Nowadays, choosing Google groups would be
the same as if the Digital Divide Network had chosen MSN groups as a
host when it started.

This is why I expressed interest for Steven Cliff's
<http://forums.e-democracy.org/> proposal in a former message.
