" While we may have lost her on the OS side"

Who is "we" and I didn't realize that there was some kind of a conversion
going on in this list?

Not necessarily, at least for the latter. While we may have lost her on the
OS side, there are tons of Free Software apps that shouldn't present the
same "challenges" as an OS switch. Need I mention OpenOffice.org?
Come to think of it, maybe I do, because there are at least two editions of
OOo that may be relevant. The first is Pocket OpenOffice.org, which you can
run off a thumbdrive -- preferably be at least 256MB, but those are cheap
nowadays anyway. The second is a CD that autoruns OOo so you don't need to
install it. Those could serve as demos, although I myself might sneak in an
install of OOo >:]

Regardless of the success of OOo on her computer, I would campaign hard for
Firefox and Thunderbird, both of which should be an easier sell than OOo.
