While we may have lost her on the OS side, there are tons of Free Software apps that shouldn't present the same "challenges" as an OS switch. Need I mention OpenOffice.org? Come to think of it, maybe I do, because there are at least two editions of OOo that may be relevant. The first is Pocket OpenOffice.org, which you can run off a thumbdrive -- preferably be at least 256MB, but those are cheap nowadays anyway. The second is a CD that autoruns OOo so you don't need to install it. Those could serve as demos, although I myself might sneak in an install of OOo >:] Regardless of the success of OOo on her computer, I would campaign hard for Firefox and Thunderbird, both of which should be an easier sell than OOo.
