FWIW, I vote against a convention in which QSYing is expected. There just is not enough activity on the bands to justify it. If the calling freq is busy, someone who wants to call can do so 500 hz up or down or somesuch. Remember that often the other station will not be aware that it IS a calling freq, and will not understand a sudden request to QSY. Further, different stations record different freqs due to the lack of convention as regards mark, space, or center freq. Endless trouble when QSYing.
