It's a fun, albeit a different mode! You want to have some fun, try
doing it on 6 meters off meteor scatter! It can take a half hour or
longer to make a valid QSO! I only have a vertical for 6, so I have
double trouble doing that.
Translating the DF to what I need to move the VFO seemed to be the
hardest part of this exercise! Nice to have the QSO with you!
Tnx es 73

Dave,
015100 5 -10 -1.4 245 0 * CQ KB3MOW FN01 1 0
015300 3 -12 -1.4 -5 3 * CQ KB3MOW FN01 1 0
015500 3 -11 -1.4 -5 1 # K3UK KB3MOW FN01 OOO 1 0
015700 10 -22 -6 2 RRR
015900 3 -14 -1.3 -5 1 * BEST -10 DB 7 1 0
020100 1 -14 -1.3 -5 1 * BEST -10 DB 7 1 0
Notice how at 0151 , when I first saw your 40M CQ, I was 245 off. I
waited until you came around again at 0153 , clicked on the left most
part of your signal on the SpecJT and had you at -5, much better.
Now take a look at the next QSO you had...
020200 10 -6 0.3 -13 3 * KB3MOW N5BA EL29 1 0
020300 4 -11 -0.8 -5 3 # N5BA KB3MOW FN01 OOO 1 0
020400 10 -12 -13 3 RO
020500 10 -18 -6 3 RRR
020600 10 -11 -13 3 73
020700 6 -13 -1.4 -5 3 * BEST -7 DB 73 1 0
I am decoding you at -5 DF and N5BA at -13 , I never did try to get
closer to him. When there is a pile up and you are not sure whether
the RO or RRR is to you or someone esle near by, check the DF when you
received a line with the call sign you are working. Note the DF then,
if you see an RRR or RO that is from a vastly different DF, then
chances are you are getting someone else's RO/RRR and not the one you
need.
Good work on 40M tonight.
