I agree completely with Steinar on the exchange information. It's somewhat different when used on meteor scatter, where adding even one or two characters might make the difference between completing a QSO or not, since that method is so sporadic. On HF, however, the signal should remain as long as propagation allows. Also, I'm not sure JT65A QSOs would qualify for DXCC, WAS, and so on, on HF, as a "normal" QSO exchange of name, QTH, and signal report are not made.

Since meteor scatter QSOs are so much more difficult, I suspect allowances were made for that reason. Since HF QSOs using this mode are as easy to make as PSK, RTTY, and so on, I doubt a the exchanges we're using will qualify as completed contacts for any kind of awards.

As a side note, I have to wonder if the "000" sent might be the amount of DF noted on the other station's frequency? If the station responding is down 30 Hz from the calling station's frequency, might that be changed to "-030"? Haven't seen anything in any of the manuals, but wouldn't be the first time I missed something in plain sight!

Hi all,

First big thanks to Andy for grate Bozo's Guide. I want to translate it
in to Norwegian if you don't minde Andy.

I think Howards suggestion is a good one . It will be easer to pick up
the right answerer when the band is crowded. And it is a
approved way according to the original manual.
