Darko, I'm glad you found the path tests useful. I've tested several modes for NVIS performance using the path parameters recommended by the ITU (see below). This simulation represents a mid-latitude NVIS skywave path (7ms delay) with significant ground wave interference. Please see attached image for the Hellschreiber test sample. The image reveals how NVIS path delays can effect Hell mode reception. Let us know how the simulations compare to your on-air testing and if there's another mode I can run through the simulator for you. Tony -K2MO PS: I'm not sure why, but I could not test Q15X25 with Mixw. I'm not aware of another program available for that mode. _____________________________________________________ NVIS (MID LATITUDE) PATH TESTS PATH DELAY: 7ms DOPPLER SPREAD: 1Hz SNR: +6db PSK31 tae quick brown fox n ups over the lazy dog tae quick crown fox jups !over tre lazy dog the !uick brown fox :ups over tae la,y dog PSK63F (Multipsk / Stream) the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy doß the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the layt Þ dog PSK250 HE QUICK BROWN FOX J PS OVER THE LA f H4iBcOWF FOX JUMPS OVEWg?1OG THE QUICK RJ¯THE LAZCG PSK500 HE QUIC OWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THmlEt e LaXts e S he ER l= E Z( DO THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE ) ALE-400 (UNPROTO MODE) THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG ALE-141A (AMD MESSAGE) THEICK BRX JUMPS OVERG L1@ AE BROWNUMP VER THE QUOWNUMPS OVER t...@theick BRS O DOG CHIP64 THE QUICKeROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BR,WN FOX JUx ì OVEtHE LAZY DOG TH Q!CK BROWN FOX JUMPS 7ER THE AZY DOG DOMINOEX-22 HE QUICK BROWN X PS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOi THE QUICK BFOWN FOX JUMPS OVERHE LAZY DOG CONTESTIA 1000Hz - 8 Tones THE QUICK BROWN F]X JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG MT63 THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG ----- Original Message ----- From: 9A3LI To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, January 14, 2010 9:56 AM Subject: Re: [digitalradio] IZ8BLY's PSK63F On Mon, 04 Jan 2010 09:48:06 +0100, Tony <[email protected]> wrote: > All, > > Recent path simulation tests indicate that Nino Porcino's > PSK63F offers > better performance over PSK31 and PSK63 in a couple of > areas. Can you try few other modes, some more wide like ALE and Q15X25 ? We experimenting a lot with PSK250/500, with or without FEC and your path sim. explains us a lot. Experiments are on 80m band with NVIS antennas and 20-100Km distance. 73! Darko 9A3LI
