Right.  This is what I thought.

Is there even a "mode" (in the sense of timings as in /etc/fb.modes)
with the CRTC2 layer?  I dunno anything about the G400 hardware, but
I would have thought it was more like a switch to just tell the card
"NTSC display mode" and the card has the timings built in for that
(and of course PAL).

This is why I wonder why the GTK+ display does not overscan the way it
does with MPlayer.  I have looked at (some of) the DirectFB GDK init
code in comparison with MPlayer and dfbtv and cannot see where it goes
wrong.  I will keep looking though.
