Hi!

Rather than pull directly from git, wouldn't it be better to create a gentoo 
overlay, using the new Layman system?

As I understand it the overlay could be hosted at gentoo.

The sources from GIT can be collected into the overlay, removing the problem of 
pulling them directly from GIT.

The overlay can include references to additional software in matching versions 
like GTK, Cairo, etc...
