Yes, I tried that option before, but that doesnt change anything :-(. The TV screen becomes black and that's it (also without that option). Mplayer and df_xine work, so I guess the problem is the Xine DirectFB-Driver, which propably initializes DirectFB with values, that are overriding /etc/directfbrc or are not working at all.
