I know that when I was configuring a linux kernel (make menuconfig) this morning, btrfs is still labeled as: "Btrfs filesystem (EXPERIMENTAL) Unstable disk format". I read that as meaning that at some stage I might need to reformat my filesystem in order to use newer kernels.
