Hello, I'd like to express thanks to GNUstep developers for their continuing work; another ALT Linux Team member has embarked on packaging it into our repositories, and I've been able to prepare LiveCDs using WindowMaker and GNUstep packages so as to provide convenient means for users to have a look at it.
The images are available here (scheduled for weekly builds): http://nightly.altlinux.org/sisyphus/flavours/gnustep/ Here's the information on Regular Builds project: http://en.altlinux.org/Regular These aren't proper distributions (I maintain a dozen of those and a rescue image so it's sort of hard to fine-tune each one) still experienced users tend to strip off lots of the polish that is pertinent to an end user distribution -- so why sweat to add what's going to be stripped anyways? :) Thus a barebone image is provided so those who install it can customize on, and those who need to tweak the LiveCD can do so by patching the distribution profile; the exact profile used to build a particular image is included as .disk/profile.tgz within the (CD/Flash, BIOS/UEFI) hybrid ISO -- those interested are invited to ping me as most of mkimage docs are in Russian; English translations are not a problem but obsolete docs are evil as seasoned developers know. PS: I'm not subscribed to the list, please CC: me too (asking Greg to hopefully let this message through) -- ---- WBR, Michael Shigorin / http://altlinux.org ------ http://opennet.ru / http://anna-news.info _______________________________________________ Discuss-gnustep mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss-gnustep
