Thank you, Dan. My silly overengineering with r8168 driver has been sorted out, and here are the images built on stable branch in addition to the ever-changing Sisyphus based ones: http://en.altlinux.org/Starterkits/gnustep Translation of the opennet.ru announce in Russian: --- Updated experimental builds of ALT Linux starterkits with GNUstep and Window Maker are available. These have been created to help those interested in having a look at this unusual environment having its roots within NeXTSTEP system and being related to OSX/iOS, and to provide those willing to install such an operating system with installable media (e.g. to tinker with porting ObjC code to Linux). These are hybrid LiveCDs for 32/64-bit x86 PCs with BIOS or UEFI; ISO images are suitable for optical media or USB flash (use dd). 256M RAM or more recommended. SysVinit and systemd-based images built upon t7 branch repository supported by ALT Linux Team along with company-supported Platform 7 one are provided; mkimage-profiles and mkimage tools ensure easy switch between these "building blocks" and easy derivatives. --- Reactions were varying from "gorgeous!" to "you won't setup an office girl with this" to "you won't sell it unless it's slick and pretty out-of-box" (as if I was selling these images in the first place, heh). Maybe some sort of user experience "bootstrap" is due, any kind of advice including "how could you miss the $URL" is much welcome (I'm a seasoned WM user but rather newbie to GS). -- ---- WBR, Michael Shigorin / http://altlinux.org ------ http://opennet.ru / http://anna-news.info _______________________________________________ Discuss-gnustep mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss-gnustep
