Hi Patrick
I would suggest some changes to README. The first paragraph 'to
install
GNUStep with ease' does not resonate with a Debian user who already
can
install GNUStep apps from package manager. Having a Debian package
for this
could be helpful (at least to me).
Thank you for this advice.
I modified accordingly the README to clarify this.
As some apps were improved (read back, by example, the work done by
Riccardo on Address framework and AddressManager and so on) I am not
sure the Debian Team could provide such improvements on stable
packages due to the rules and delays with Debian releases.
But maybe I am wrong.
Yavor and Alex, could you clarify this point, please?
(...) From a Debian user perspective, all those
numerous little changes should be included into packages, either all
together
or separately for each app and component.

Well, this could be envisaged.
My first thought about End Users was to provide ISOs Demos ready to
run out of the box. But the package approach could be a good way too.
Another idea is to provide universal installer packages - not tied to
any operating system - but only to GNUstep system and Installer app.
This is a only a concept... Nothing yet done.
Another reason to use a sources mode install is that doing so we could
port the Desktop on other platforms: I think about FreeBSD... Maybe on
LFS too (SimplyGNUstep born again?)
As I dispatched Desktop and Theme into distinct projects, maybe we
could also envisage to provide a less up to date Desktop, but based on
Debian stable packages, with only AGNOSTEP-THEME applying. I will
think about this too depending on the answer and recommendations by
Yavor and Alex... and everybody who feels concerned, of course.
Cheers,
Patrick
