OpenSRS does, currently, allow internal transfers. It's just a bit of work.
...and rightly so, from my (limited) perspective.

We have EXTERNAL spamming of our customers. Now we want to incite
internal spamming as well? I don't care how high-minded anyone says they
are, business is business.

Were it up to me, I would try to set up a process like the udrp
and certainly ~allow~ transfers, I just wouldn't encourage, facilitate,
automate or otherwise grease the process. Keep it relatively close to
the vest but work diligently to see that end-users get exactly what
they need (customers).

I can say this having had quite a few customers request transfers from
SRS RSP's. Usually, the problem is one of communication between the customer
and RSP that can easily be assisted by someone knowledgeable (me). I may
be a bleeding-heart conservative, but I sincerely believe that NO ONE of us
is as good as ALL of us.

Karmically, gaining a customer by jumping on the
"yeah, those guys suck" bandwagon without really understanding the situation
will yield negative long-term results. Still, I've seen some high-minded
people
get sucked into it. It's tempting :-p

Because if I, as a customer, am upset with my RSP, I will transfer. If I
cannot transfer to another RSP, I'll simply go to another registrar, no
problems with that transfer.

We already have companies spamming our clients and competing, like this...
Register.com was for a while I believe, Verio comes to mind. By blocking
transfers between RSPs, we are hurting OpenSRS in the long run, because
people will be forced to transfer away from OpenSRS altogether, just because
of one bad RSP.

Just my thoughts
