One thing that REALLY shocked me when I transferred my domain from NetSol to
OpenSRS were the confirmations that I got.
I got one from the RSP (A receipt, nothing more really)
I got one from OpenSRS (Verify transfer)
I got one from NetSol (Transfer has been completed, if you don't like it
email to complain)
I got one from the RSP (Transfer has been completed)
What scared/shocked me, was that the receiving registrar was the *only* one
to actually contact me to confirm I wanted the transfer to go ahead. I had
thought/assumed that the root registry would confirm with me. What stops a
registrar from transferring some big domains over, imagine the damage that
could be done by transferring Microsoft.com AOL.com and whatnot (Say, done
by a disgruntled employee about to walk out)
It could be days before it could be properly resolved. And all with only
the receiving registrar making a change?
