You're probably too young to remember when the UK tax rate went to over
100%. Yes, it's true. When Harold Wilson was Prime Minister the highest
marginal rate was 95% (causing many people like the Beatles to move
offshore).
Then he introduced, for one year only, a 10% surcharge !!!
Sometime about then I left the UK for Australia.
