Y'know what I've always wondered is why it is that websites
(especially those with many customers and layers of e-mail
awareness) with planned downtimes don't smack up a little
html page that says what's going on. Y'know, like the intermission
screen or "technical difficulties" screen on TV.
..and if you wanted to get real wacky, you could plant an error message
if the cgi process was down as well so customers wouldn't just get confusing
messages that make the cgi look broken....
<<??>>
Is it something too obvious I'm not thinking of?
Just a musing....

Subject: Re: Can Scheduled Downtime be posted on OPENSRS site PLEASE
Marc,
I think you mis-understood the point
Posted to the *web site* (as well as sent out as an email notification)
not
Only sent out as an email notification
The idea is when I get the email I read it and instantly delete it. Then I may
later forget the exact details. If it was on the web site I could always
reference to see the times
later
