You can register a nameserver host using manage.cgi/manage.opensrs.net -
login to the domain, select "Name Servers", and at the bottom of the page
there's an item to create/modify a nameserver based on the domain.
In creating/modifying you're effectively registering a nameserver host.
HST records, or handles in particular are not a part of the OpenSRS
system. You don't need contacts :)
