Could OpenSRS add this functionality to the code in the future? For example
maybe when someone registers they can select 10 years and then OPenSRS just
takes the credits from the RSP and applies them the the domain once
transferred. Sure would make my life easier.

The Registry adds one year when a transfer command is placed. That is a
limitation of the registry, and comes from neither OpenSRS nor ICANN
mandate.
