Speaking, I think, on behalf of the company, it's just too early to tell.
I'm very convinced that a lot was taken out of context yesterday, this
particular point being the best example.

ICANN has a lot of balls in the air right now and they are moving in the
right direction on a number of issues, but it's important to remember that
they haven't even ratified these agreements yet.

Mike Roberts posted some interesting comments to the ICANN Public Comments
Forum yesterday which basically said that they will endeavor to ensure that
whatever charter they do implement works towards, not against, the interests
of all the current .org stakeholders.

My interpretation of their stance is that commercial interests should be
driven from the .org namespace, not the non-commercial interests.

This predates ICANN. The .org charter outlined in RFC 1591 talks about
"organizations that don't really fit in the other TLDs." Keep in mind that
this was written at a time when it was inconceivable that individuals would
ever need to be taken into account because it was financially "impossible"
for an individual to get access to the resources that they would need in
order to use a domain. This has since changed, but individuals do certainly
have a place in .org.

Nah, the obvious solution is to work within the ICANN process to effect
positive change within .org for those that are currently using it properly.
