I'm actually posting from a personal account. My sig line is a bit of
Systems Architect humor. When designing systems it is generally a good
idea to avoid single points of failure. When you take this ideal to the
extreme, you end up in the above situation. :-)

We take what we do pretty seriously. Again, we're a market-based effort.
We don't hide, nor do we apologize this for this. While I appreciate your
concerns regarding control, if we do a bad job then people won't use
us. The only way in which we will gain control of thousands of tlds is if
people choose to use us. That means we have to be responsive to what
consumers and our customers want. This is in marked contrast to ICANN
which is attempting to gain control over thousands of tlds by demanding
it and ruling over the space.

I don't believe the information is relevant to the conversation, nor would
I provide it to you, sorry.

What specifically would you like to know in this regard?

U.S. currently, although as we move into other countries I'm pretty
certain we will be respecting the laws of the relevant countries.

Could you be more specific? We do provide services to the .kids TLD, and
they have a charter which provides for only "kids-friendly" content, but
to date that is the only "censorship" that I am aware of.

And law enforcement, the FTC, and anti-trust divisions of the USG can kick
our rears if we were to behave badly.

Further the commerce dept. doesn't contol WIPO, which is an international
treaty organization.

Why not? That is what our busines is based on, and who is paying our
bills. If we aren't serving our customers interests, then perhaps you
might be able to tell me whose interests we are actually serving? :-)
