I am considering joining OpenSRS and becoming a registrar but I have a few questions
before I do. I am not a domain name speculator. I have never sold and will not sell
the names I have purchased. I simply own a number of domain names which I am
developing by myself very slowly. One every 4-5 months. Thus I need a cheap place to
keep them as I develop them. I think this is the right place to ask but if there is a
better place for these questions please let me know.
Can I join OpenSRS and just register my own domain names?
What is the yearly fee per domain name for OpenSRS registrars?
How much would it cost for the initial set up? (to get me to the point where I can
transfer and register my own domain names?)
What is the monthly/yearly fee, if any, paid to Tucows?
I am not a competent programmer. (But that doesn't mean I am incompetent :o) Do I have
to install, configure or otherwise mess around with the OpenSRS software?
If I must install the above, how much would it cost to have someone do it for me?
As you probably guessed I am a bit of a miser so if anyone can think of a cheaper way
to achieve what I want then please let me know.
