> Can I join OpenSRS and just register my own domain names?

-Yes.

> What is the yearly fee per domain name for OpenSRS registrars?

-$10 US per domain year

-Your initial deposit is either $250 US for Full Access (feature rich
OpenSRS code running on your servers) or $500 US for Quick Start (easy/basic
web interface). This is NOT a sign-up fee. The $250 = 25 prepaid domain
years and $500 = 50 prepaid domain years.

> What is the monthly/yearly fee, if any, paid to Tucows?

-NONE

> I am not a competent programmer. (But that doesn't mean I am

> mess around with the OpenSRS software?

-not if you do the Quick Start implementation.

> If I must install the above, how much would it cost to have
> someone do it for me?

-pricing ranges ($150 - $700 depending on what you done, i.e. code, payment
gateway, merchant account ....) ... see the Support FAQ for a list of
consultants.

> As you probably guessed I am a bit of a miser so if anyone

-I'll let the list answer this one. We are inexpensive, but we are not the
cheapest. The domain is only one part of the equation. Our resellers can
offer you much more in the way of packages with web hosting, url forwarding,
domain parking, etc. I'll let them contact you OFFLIST.
